Terms and Conditions
Please check each box to indicate your acceptance of the terms.
Payment Schedule *
Payment is due at the beginning of each month for that month's lessons; no lessons will be given without advance payment. Invoices will be emailed prior to the start of each month indicating any outstanding balance as well as scheduled lessons for the upcoming month. Any lesson canceled for non-payment will still be billed and no further lessons will be scheduled until your account is brought current.
Payment Methods *
Payment is accepted via cash, check (made out to Daron Kirsch), Venmo, and Zelle/QuickPay, as well as credit card and ACH transfers through my website (both with auto-pay available). Payments made through PayPal will NOT be accepted. You are responsible for any fees incurred due to returned checks or other payment issues.
Attendance *
Practicing an instrument is a large commitment in terms of both time and energy. By enrolling in lessons, you agree to continue your enrollment through the school year, barring exceptional circumstances. Lessons are scheduled on a recurring weekly basis. You are expected to attend each lesson, and a continued pattern of absence will result in the termination of this contract.
Cancellations *
If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason, you must do so 24 hours or more in advance to avoid being billed for that lesson. Absolutely no exceptions will be made, and any lesson cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed. The includes illness, transportation issues, and school testing. I do not have the testing schedule at the schools, and am not responsible for knowing when you will miss a lesson for testing or other school-related activity. Notification of these absences is your responsibility. Should I need to cancel a lesson, your payment for that lesson will be applied as a credit to the following month.
Physical Contact *
From time to time, it will be beneficial for me to touch you gently in order to demonstrate a particular aspect of cello technique. Such contact is generally restricted to the hands, arms, shoulders, and back. I will make every effort to ask before touching you, but if this makes you uncomfortable, either now or at any point in the future, please let me know and I will refrain from such contact going forward.
Practice Requirements *
Students are expected to practice daily for an amount of time roughly equivalent to their lesson length. Assignments will be made weekly, and it is expected that the material will be ready to play at the following lesson or that you will have specific questions about how to practice what was assigned. Consistent failure to practice will result in the termination of this contract.
Materials and Supplies *
You are responsible for providing all materials necessary for your study and for maintaining your instrument. This includes, but is not limited to: a pencil at every lesson, glasses or contacts (if you need them), rosin, cleaning cloth, rock stop, sheet music, wolf eliminators, mutes, strings.
Thank you!
